Exam strategy

Study

Studying prepares you to solve the problems asked on the exam. The knowledge and repitition you gain from studying also gives you confidence to execute well and not panic during the pressure of a test.

Handwriting helps you learn. Write out problems and formulas, then rewrite them again.

Study early and often. Then do some comprehensive cramming right before your test.

Strategize

Set your goal. If it is a pass/fail test, what is the pass mark? If you are targeting a specific grade, what score do you need to achieve that?

Know the grading. If the test is multiple choice and there are no wrong answer penalties, make sure you answer every question. For multiple choice exams, use process of elimination, then guess when you don’t know an answer.

Be efficient. Answer the questions you know first then move on. Save the questions you are least confident on until the end. Avoid spinning your wheels.

Plan

Make a plan for test day and stick to it. Make sure you balance study time with sleep.

Show up to the test like a boss and crush it!
